The more you stand out on Dana White’s Contender Series, the better your chances of landing a UFC contract, and few competitors in the history of the series have left an impression like Ignacio Bahamondes did on Wednesday.
The 23-year old welterweight out of Chile was handily winning his fight with Edson Gomez on the card from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, before he put an exclamation point on things.
Bahamondes (11-3) knocked Gomez cold with a front kick, sending him crashing back with a leg bent backwards. That ended things at the 2:31 mark of the second round.
That’s the second straight win for Bahamondes and his eight career knockout.
