
LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie is on scene and reporting live from Saturday’s UFC on ABC 2 event, and you can join us for live play-by-play and official results beginning at 11:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. PT).
UFC on ABC 2 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card airs on ABC and streams on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.
In the main event, Marvin Vettori (16-3-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) takes on short-notice replacement Kevin Holland (21-6 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in a middleweight fight. Holland headlined a UFC show just three weeks ago, as well.

Impa Kasanganay vs. Sasha Palatnikov
Round 1 – Kasanganay with his hands high as he presses forward. He’s looking to be aggressive early. Right hand scores. Palatnikov moving well and throws a few low kicks. Kasanganay catches one and keeps it, moving close and getting his opponent off-balance and to the floor. Palatnikov’s head against the cage as he takes half-guard. Kasanganay controlling the head and keeping shoulder pressure. Palatnikov able to get full guard. He breaks it and stands, and they work from the clinch briefly before returning to the center. Kasanganay back inside quickly, but Palatnikov defends well and circles off the fence. Kasanganay reverses again, but he can’t get the fight to the floor. They trade strikes in the clinch. In the final minute, and they break apart and trade a bit. Palatnikov misses a few big right hands before the bell. MMA Junkie gives it to Kasanganay, 10-9.

Da Un Jung vs. William Knight
Round 1 – Early low kick Knight. Jung pretty stationary to start, and Knight kicks low again. Knight checks a low kick and then tries to drive inside. Jung defends well and after some scrambling is able to deliver a takedown and settle in his opponent’s guard. Knight’s head against the fence, and he’s basically just holding for now, looking for a reset. Jung not doing a whole lot to stay active. Referee Mark Smith warns them to move, and Knight does finally break posture and scramble up, but Jung immediately drives him to the canvas with an impactful slam. Half-guard underneath, but Knight doing a good job of keeping things tied up. Jung does a little bit from top, and Knight’s left eye showing some damage. It’s not a ton of work, but he holds position. MMA Junkie gives the first to Jung, 10-9.
Round 2 – Knight to the low kick again early. Jung throws one of his own. Knight with a right hand over the top. Jung kicks the legs again. Knight to the body and another low kick. His back is to the cage. He tries to change levels, but Jung again with the solid defense and then an outside trip to the floor. Knight turns to his knees while controlling the wrists. Jung trying to slip in the hooks. Knight using the cage to help defend that, and he works up to his feet, but Jung quickly drives him back down. Jung controlling from the back. He steps over and gets his hooks in. Jung postures to punch. Smith calls for him to work, and he does shift a bit, but Jung is heavy on the back. Knight trying to shift and move and get free, but Jung is heavy on him and holding the position. Not a ton of damage, again, but he’s dominating the positioning. Round ends there, and MMA Junkie gives it to Jung, 10-9.
Round 3 – Jung immediately forward to clinch. Knight tags him with a right hand. Another scores. He’s loading up on the right hand, but Jung just walks past it and grabs him and throws him to the floor. Side control for Jung. Knight scrambles up. Jung stays tight to him and drags him to the canvas once again. Back in side control. Knight switches his hips and looks to stand, but Jung turns out to north-south. Knight just can’t get anything going. Back to side control for Jung. Knight with a few elbows to the body, but Jung answers with knees. Smith again calls for action, with Jung largely content to just hang out on top. Knight trying to frame a bit from his back and make space, but Jung is heavy on top. Another warning from Smith to work. Less than a minute left. Jung not doing a whole lot, but he’s moving just enough to keep the position, and Knight is absolutely stuck. Round ends like that. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Jung and awards him the fight 30-27.

Jordan Griffin vs. Luis Saldana
Round 1 – Saldana with an inside low kick. He’s shifting left on the outside. Two punches scores. Griffin fires back. Saldana with a low kick that buckles his opponent’s leg. Griffin rushes forward once recovered, but Saldana slips away. Another stiff low kick from Saldana. Griffin aggressive in his forward movement, but Saldana moving well and seeing it all. Another Saldana low kick scores. He looks very relaxed on his feet. Spinning backfist scores. Griffin keeps the pressure high and does land a few crisp punches before pushing into a clinch. Saldana defends well and tries to get the neck. Not there. They scramble, and Griffin is able to get the canvas. Saldana defends well, but it’s Griffin with the aggression now. He scores another takedown late. MMA Junkie scores a close round for Griffin on the late work.
Round 2 – Saldana back to the center and moving well, slipping and countering. Front kick up the middle. Griffin pushing forward. Saldana slips on a kick, and Griffin rushes forward to get on top. Saldana with wild upkicks, but Griffin able to work past them. Saldana controls the wrist and works into an armbar, but Griffin feels it and defends, getting his arm free and keeping top position. Saldana turns to the leg. Submission not there, but he uses it to create a scramble and turn to the top. Once there, he wraps the neck and wants the guillotine. Griffin defending and works to the feet, and Saldana has to let go and reset. Immediate leg kick. Saldana spins, but Griffin slips under it and scores a takedown again. Two minutes left. Saldana again turns to his knees and tries to stand. Griffin tries to stay heavy, but Saldana to his feet. Griffin changes levels, and Saldana wraps the neck again. Griffin pulls him down. Saldana tries to move away, and Griffin moves to his back. Saldana scrambles, but Griffin gets the hooks in and looks for a squeeze at the bell. He can’t finish it before it sounds. MMA Junkie gives it again to Griffin, 10-9.
Round 3 – Saldana again takes the center. He wants to strike and lands a nice right hand. Griffin’s corner wants him to get inside. He throws a left and moves to the legs. Saldana defends well and pulls away.Left hands traded. Griffin may have lost the zip he needs to get inside. Saldana scores with a right. Jab lands. Griffin rushes forward, but he’s clearly tired, and Saldana slips away. He’s back in the center and lands a nice right. Griffin trying to stay in his face. He finally is able to get to the legs, but Saldana digs in underhooks and spins off the fence. Griffin stays tight and is able to control the neck briefly as they fall to the canvas. Saldana able to pop his head out and take top position. Saldana in the dominant position. He’s controlling the wrist. Griffin tries to move, and Saldana scrambles around to his back. Late in the round, and Griffin turns inside. He has top position and lands a few punches. Saldana turns, and Griffin jumps to the back. Round ends there. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Saldana, 10-9, but awards the fight to Griffin, 29-28. Going to come down to that first round.

Hunter Azure vs. Jack Shore
Round 1 – Early low kick from Shore. Azure catches a front kick but can’t drag the action down. Crisp two punches from Shore. He slips a return and stumbles a bit. Shore moves inside and wants the clinch. Azure defending, but Shore stays tight and eventually gets the takedown. Azure pops right back to the feet. Shore refusing to let go of the bodylock. Azure stands, and he’s able to turn inside and take top position. Shore gets his feet inside and kicks away, creating space to stand, and they move back to the center. Low kick from Shore. Azure misses with a big right, and Shore slips it and lands one of his own. Low kick from Shore. Azure presses into the clinch. Shore able to pull away. Low kicks traded at the bell. MMA Junkie gives it to Shore, 10-9.
Round 2 – Azure misses an early low kick. Shore moving well. He catches an Azure low kicks and gets him off-balance. He drives him to the fence, but Azure able to pull away. Shore with a stiff jab. He drives inside again and lands a big uppercut. Shore wraps the body and tries to dump him. Azure able to counter well, walking on his hands momentarily and then scrambling to a position to wrap the neck. Shore has to settle on the floor to get the pressure off. He works full guard. Shore breaks it, turns, and gets back to his feet. They work in the clinch. Azure with a low knee, and we get a timeout. After a brief rest, we start again in the clinch. Azure able to spin off the fence. He wants the takedown, but it’s not there, so he moves back to the center. Shore with two quick punches again. He’s managing the range well, slipping his opponent’s strikes and countering. They finish on the feet, and MMA Junkie gives it to Shore, 10-9.
Round 3 – Shore with a stiff uppercut to open. Azure shakes it off. Shore with a stiff jab. Azure inside and looking for the takedown. Shore defends perfectly, and they move back to the center. Azure looking to move inside, but Shore lands a few punches as he moves inside. Azure tries again, but Shore with a sprawl and stays upright. Azure relentless with the forward pressure, but it’s Shore who adjusts as they clinch and slips around to the back. He lifts and drags the action to the canvas. One hook is in. Azure leaves the arm behind as he turns, but Shore leaves it and focuses on keeping the position. Azure able to get to his feet and turn inside, but Shore immediately drives him back to the canvas. Azure refusing to quit, and he scrambles and rolls and is able to enjoy some top position in the final minute. Shore trying to work the sweep and kicks the legs high. Not there, but it’s another scramble, and Shore gets to the top. Azure relentless, but MMA Junkie awards the round to Shore, 10-9, and gives him the fight 30-27.

Round 1 – Danho with an early low kick. He’s moving right on the outside and lands another. De Castro with a right hand. Danho continues moving right, near constantly. He’s kicking the legs a bit and just refusing to be stationary. De Castro tracking from the center. He misses on a. big right over the top, and Danho clinches and presses to the fence. De Castro battles his way off, and they reset in the center. De Castro with a right hand that scores. Danho inside with a takedown, but De Castro pops back to his feet. Danho with a knee, but De Castro pulls away. He dives forward with a right, but Danho lands with a perfect counter to the temple, and De Castro is out before he hits the canvas. Danho follows with hammerfists, but this was already done. Out cold.

Ignacio Bahamondes vs. John Makdessi
Round 1 – Bahamondes with a low kick and a long jab. He wants to use his range early. Makdessi trying to stay in the pocket and work past the range. He kicks the legs, as well. Bahamondes happy to stay outside and work the straight punches. Quick jab, then lay the right hand behind it. Both men targeting the legs, but it’s Bahamondes’s long punches that are the difference right now. Makdessi’s face marked up, but he lands a stiff left. Bahamondes is hurt. Makdessi sees it. He pushes forward, and Bahamondes trying to cover up and slow things down. Makdessi able to wrok free. Bahamondes’s right eye is busted up. Makdessi on the attack. He’s walking froward and looking to strike. Bahamondes trying desperately to keep things in the clinch. Makdessi picking his shots and going to the body a bit, as well. Bahamondes thinks takedown, but it’s not there. He’s keeping things tied up though. Blood dripping down below his right eye. Makdessi defends and pushes him away. They trade punches. Action-packed, and MMA Junkie gives the first to Makdessi, 10-9.
Round 2 – Bahamondes with a high kick that’s blocked. He wants to get back to working at range, but Makdessi is pushing through it and keeping the pressure high. Low kicks traded. Bahamondes tryin to press but eats a left hand. Makdessi grinding with the left hand, and the right side of Bahamondes’s face is a mess. Still, Bahamondes is firing punches. He lands a stiff left hand. He’s keeping Makdessi honest. Bahamondes drops levels and pushes the action to the cage. Makdessi defends well and is able to pull away. Two minutes left. Both men trading punches. Makdessi’s have a little more zip, but Bahamondes isn’t laying down. Bahamondes low kick scores. Spinning wheel kick glances off for Bahamondes. His jab scores. Bahamondes gaining some momentum in the final minute. He kicks to the body. Makdessi’s face showing some wear, too. Round ends on the feet, and MMA Junkie gives a good one to Makdessi, 10-9.
Round 3 – Bahamondes pressing early. He’s circling and looking to strike and seems to have solid energy considering the pace. Makdessi still stalking from the center and looking to get in tight. Knee scores for Bahamondes. Punches land on both sides. Bahamondes with a nice right over the top. He changes levels and pushes the action to the cage. Makdessi defends well. They move back to the center and keep trading. Makdessi complains of an eyepoke, but we continue. Volume from both men continues to flow. Bahamondes right lands clean. Left hand follows. Both men teeing off until the end. Bahamondes’ corner calling for him to press. He’s landing but taking return fire, as well. Knee misses, but two punches scores. Makdessi answers right back. Makdessi ducks under a high kick in the final minute. Bahamondes’s face an absolute mess, but he’s not stopping. Makdessi with a spinning kick at the end. Great fight. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Bahamondes, 10-9, but awards the fight to Makdessi, 29-28.

Round 1 – Gamrot in the center as Holtzman shifts on the outside. Punches exchanged as they feel out the range. Holtzman misses on a huge uppercut. Gamrot changes levels and ducks under a punch to get to the legs. Holtzman turns and defends perfectly and slips back to the feet. Holtzman’s corner wants him to back off the power punches and just score on the feet. He lands a big uppercut again. Gamrot hurt but shakes it off. Gamrot rushes for the legs from range but can’ t quite get there. Holtzman defending well and making Gamrot pay for mistakes. Holtzman very composed this far. Gamrot finally gets deep on a leg and is able to trip the action to the floor. Holtzman turns inside and stands. Gamrot trying to sweep the legs out. Not there, so he lets go. Gamrot seems to land to the back of the head as we break, but we fight on in the final minute. They finish on the feet. MMA Junkie gives it to Holtzman, 10-9.
Round 2 – Gamrot turning up the heat a little, trying to press inside and get to the legs. Holtzman wants to punish him with the right hand. Gamrot creates a scramble and is able to latch the body, but Holtzman backs him away. Holtzman the aggressor on the feet and firing the uppercut. Gamrot counters with a right that lands flush. Holtzman is hurt. He’s on his knees and can’t get up. Gamrot follows with big right hands on the floor, and this is over as Holtzman briefly goes limp from the shots.
