LAS VEGAS – Trevin Giles beat Bevon Lewis with a third-round TKO Saturday to close out the preliminary card at UFC on ESPN+ 40 in Las Vegas.
Take a look inside the fight with Giles, who won for the second straight time after the first two losses of his pro career.
Giles on the fight’s key moment
“I saw he was kind of timing my jab. So I had to hold off on it a little bit. I started feinting and showing him different angles. I just made sure I stayed in his face. I didn’t give him much room to breathe. I let him swing and miss, get tired and then slow him down so I could finish the fight. I noticed I hit him a couple times and it seemed like he was out of it a bit on his feet. I just knew the next hook would knock him down. So I just came with a wide, looping right hand and it did the job.”

Giles on getting a stoppage
“It feels great. I always love to finish a fight, especially after having the last decision and then not being able to fight. I feel relieved that I was able to get out here and just get it done. … I really like finishing. The fans don’t come out to see us go to decisions. Any time I go to a decision, it’s always nerve-racking because you never know what the judges are going to do. I don’t like to leave it to anybody else. I feel like if that happens, you didn’t do your job. I’m not putting anybody down with that. That’s just my own personal thing.”
