The UFC is back in full swing on the cusp of its third event in an eight-day stretch. Because of that, there was no shortage of news to discuss in the latest MMA Junkie Q&A.

From the controversy surrounding Wednesday’s UFC on ESPN+ 29 headliner, where Glover Teixeira battered Anthony Smith in a fifth-round TKO, to the emotional stakes around Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 8 headliner between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris, the fights themselves have provided many points of interest.

Then there’s everything that’s happened outside the cage. Conor McGregor kept in the news, UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones teased a move to heavyweight to face Francis Ngannou, and UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov was forced to tend to a family crisis.

Lead staff reporter John Morgan, who is onsite in Jacksonville, Fla., for the UFC’s ongoing events, and senior reporter Mike Bohn, went over it all in Friday’s MMA Junkie Q&A.
