It’s a done deal: UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim titleholder Dustin Poirier will unify the titles in the UFC 242 main event, the promotion announced Tuesday.
UFC 242 takes place Sept. 7 in Abu Dhabi. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims expected on ESPN and ESPN+/UFC Fight Pass.

With the main event now official, the UFC 242 lineup currently includes:
- Champ Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Interim champ Dustin Poirier – to unify lightweight title
- Shamil Abdurakhimov vs. Curtis Blaydes
- Belal Muhammad vs. Takashi Sato
- Ottman Azaitar vs. Teemu Packalen
