UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Johnny Campbell was the biggest underdog on the card at Bellator 258 and made the oddsmakers look like they may have missed a thing or two.
A 34-year-old journeyman who has been bouncing around the regional circuit for more than 10 years, Campbell (21-13 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) stunned Henry Corrales (18-6 MMA, 6-6 BMMA) with a second-round rear-naked choke in his Bellator debut.
Corrales was nearly a -1400 favorite at one online sports book, and no books gave Campbell better than +475 odds in the fight. But after his stunner on the prelims, he’s shooting for a big name: James Gallagher.
