Patchy Mix’s Bellator debut couldn’t have been more dominant.
The former King of the Cage champion needed just a little over a minute to dispatch Ricky Bandejas at Bellator 222 back in June 2019. Mix (13-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) submitted Bandejas with a rear-naked choke at the 1:06 mark of Round 1.
Mix put the bantamweight division on notice and called out James Gallagher in his post-fight interview. The bout with Gallagher didn’t materialize, but Mix went on to win two more times, earning a shot at the vacant Bellator bantamweight title against Juan Archuleta at Bellator 256 this past September. Unfortunately for Mix, he suffered his first professional loss in a unanimous decision.
Now, almost two years later after making his Bellator debut, Mix will take on the Gallagher on May 7 at Bellator 258. On that same event, champion Archuleta defends his title for the first time against Sergio Pettis.
