LAS VEGAS – Angela Hill beat Loopy Godinez with a unanimous decision Saturday to close out the preliminary card at UFC on ESPN 41 in San Diego.
Take a look inside the fight with Hill, who snapped a three-fight skid for her first win since March 2021.
Hill on the fight’s key moment
“I’m a better striker. Of course my experience is going to play well for me in the later rounds. I could see her fading. I could see her sucking gas. She was trying to toss me around like a ragdoll, and that was a lot of energy she was expending.”
Hill on winning in San Diego
“High emotions – I really wanted to win here, for sure. But also, that three fight losing streak, that’s the first time that’s happened in my career. It was really important to get off of that skid and prove that I’ve just been fighting tough competition (in my losses). Loopy’s one of the toughest prospects, but she’s still a prospect. I still have that veteran experience over her. People forget what I’ve done to the people we both fought. I’m just happy to get this win and prove that I’m still a dog in this game.”
Hill on what she wants next
“I’m always ready to fight. I’m always looking for new people to fight. … I want to fight Karolina Kowalkiewicz in Madison Square Garden (at UFC 281 in November). She got to fight there already against Joanna Jedrzejczyk, I think. That’s where my fight career started. They just started announcing fights (for that card). I would love that to be my next fight.”
